Hastings City Bank Bill Porter Charity Golf Outing Results
The Hastings City Bank Bill Porter Memorial Charity Golf Outing took place on Friday, August 6 at the Hastings County Club. Thanks to 30 teams and numerous sponsors, $30,000 was raised for local non profit organizations. Golfers votes put Green Gables Haven, a Barry County Domestic Violence Shelter, in first place. They will receive $13,000 from the event. Second place goes to the YMCA, earning $6,750, followed by the Freeport Area Volunteer Fire Department which will receive $4,050 and the Barry County United Way at $2,700. CASA for Kids, Big Brothers Big Sisters Barry County and the Child Abuse Prevention Council will each receive $1,000. The winning golf team, with a score of 54, was Nathan Tagg, Jeff Storrs, Steve Peurach and Dennis Tagg.
